Building a Brighter Future: We Opened Snang An Primary School for the Community in Phnom Chi

On April 12, 2025, we marked a meaningful milestone in our journey of community engagement with the grand opening of Snang An Primary School in Phnom Chi village, Sandan District, Kampong Thom Province. The school inauguration was led and organized entirely by Jiangxia Mining Company’s management team and dedicated staff, as part of our ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The ceremony was full of energy, joy, and hope. It brought together local families, teachers, and students, who gathered to witness the opening of a new chapter for education in their village. Our team took great pride in planning and hosting every part of the event, ensuring that it was both heartfelt and well-organized.
One of the most special moments of the day was the arrival of H.E. Ung Dipola, who joined the event to give an encouraging and inspiring speech. He emphasized the importance of rural education and how this school represents a major step forward for the future of the community. The event was also honored by the presence of the village leader, the commune leader, and the Deputy Governor of Kampong Thom, whose support further highlighted the significance of the occasion. During the event, the school was officially named Snang An Primary School, a name now proudly displayed at the school’s entrance.
The event began with a flag-raising ceremony, attended by the students and members of the Jiangxia team. The sound of the national anthem, sung by students beneath the newly raised flag, set the tone for a day that was both emotional and celebratory.
The school now includes three fully equipped classrooms, a teacher's office, modern sanitation facilities, a small library corner, a teacher dormitory, and a flag-raising area and recreational area. Each room is installed with electricity and fans to ensure a comfortable environment for learning. Clean, well-divided bathrooms with separate sections for girls and boys, urinals, and handwashing stations were built with the students’ hygiene and safety in mind. The school grounds also feature a large flag area that can accommodate up to 120 students during school assemblies and national ceremonies.

In addition to providing educational infrastructure, Jiangxia Mining company extended further support by distributing essential school supplies, including school bags, books, stationery, and notebooks, enabling students to confidently begin their academic journey. Approximately 200 community members including students, parents, educators, and local leaders attended the event, making it a warm, festive, and memorable gathering.
Beyond the celebration, we also laid a foundation for the school’s future. Jiangxia Mining Company donated 600 books to help establish a small school library corner, creating a space where young minds can grow through reading. We also provided the school principal with 2,000,000 riel to support the school’s future needs, ensuring it continues to thrive long after opening day.
Snang An Primary School embodies Jiangxia Mining’s genuine promise and commitment to meaningful action, community empowerment and the transformative power of education. This accomplishment was made possible entirely through the unified efforts of our management and staff, exemplifying how collective vision and action can lead to profound and lasting positive impacts.
